Special Topics : Robot Design and Experimentation (24-775)
Mechanical Engineering, Spring'18
Instructor - Dr. Aaron Johnson
Worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a class of 35 students by myself, for Robot Design and Experimentation project-based course. Taught for the graduate students of Carnegie Mellon University, Mechanical Engineering Department, PA, my responsibilities included setting up and grading the assignments, holding office hours for students on a weekly basis, team final project discussions, and technical support in terms of suggestions, ideas, and execution.
I had the opportunity to teach control systems and motion planning concepts like Pure pursuit controller, bicycle dynamics, and their application in self-driving vehicles to the students. The course was structured with more focus on building a robot and testing it, the theme was Bio-inspired robots. In the first month, we visited a Zoo and with inspiration from different animals, the teams came up with project ideas for the course.
Eight projects were built over the course, by different teams. The assignments were based on general robotics concepts and legged robots. The following videos are the projects that different student teams worked on, over the semester. Robots with a focus on dynamics, control systems, and hardware were designed from scratch by the teams. They were showcased at the CMU project design expo at the end of the semester. Prizes were given out to the project teams under different aspects.
Feedback Control Systems (24-451)
Mechanical Engineering, Fall'18
Instructor - Dr. Sameer Shroff
Worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for a class of 70 students by myself, for the Feedback Control systems course. Taught for the undergraduate students of Carnegie Mellon University, Mechanical Engineering Department, PA, my responsibilities included setting up and grading the assignments, holding office hours for students on a weekly basis, final project discussions, and technical support in terms of suggestions, ideas, and execution. I had the opportunity to teach control systems concepts like PID, and the basics of LQR to the class with Matlab simulations.
